2017 Indian Premier League is in its full manifestation and driving cricket enthusiasts crazy with its nail-biting matches. Such a match was seen on 11th April that was played between Rising Pune Supergiant and Delhi Daredevils. This was the 9th match of IPL 10. Oh! What a match it was! One of the biggest IPL victories so far, Daredevils destroyed Supergiant winning the match by a huge margin of 97 runs. With this triumph, Delhi made a huge comeback in the league wowing fans all over. Pune Supergiant struggled throughout, failing both while batting and bowling. Here’s a brief review of what exactly happened in this startling match. Let’s have a look.

Delhi’s Eponymous Victory

Whilst Delhi has been constantly facing failures in the recent seasons of the IPL, Daredevils made an outstanding comeback in this season by winning their second match against Rising Pune Supergiant. Delhi was the first one to bat. Sanju Samson came out as the star of the show scoring 102 runs on 63 balls at a strike rate of 161.90. With his outstanding batting, Delhi Daredevils managed to score 205 runs with a fall of just 4 wickets. As it should have been, Samson was given the player of the match title. On the other hand, Rising Pune Supergiant scored only 108 runs all out in 16.1 overs. Thanks to Delhi’s outstanding bowlers! Captain Zaheer Khan and bowler Amit Mishra took 3 wickets each. This led Delhi Daredevils towards a prodigious conquest of 97 runs.

Pune Tastes Fiasco Again

Despite of winning the toss, electing to field, and playing on their home ground, Rising Pune Supergiant could not manage to mark victory in this match. Keeping the matter of victory aside, Rising Pune Supergiant couldn’t even manage to give a tough competition to Daredevils. Right from their batting to bowling, everything was a complete mess. From veterans like MS Dhoni, to Faf Du Plessis, all failed to score above 20 runs. On the other hand, bowlers failed as well. Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir, and Adam Zampa took one wicket each. If Supergiant want to stay in the game, they need to work really hard on their skills.
