The Major Highlights of the Match: Pakistan Wins by 3 Wickets

Well, the match was very important for both the teams as it was the deciding factor which team will reach to the semi-finals. It was undoubtedly a very entertaining match as both the teams did not want to give up till the end.Team Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl. As it should have been, team Sri Lanka came to bat first. The team got a good start as wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella scored 73 runs off 86 balls. But, things did not go well for team Sri Lanka as the other batsmen stumbled all along. Consequently, the Sri Lankan team scored only 236 runs, all out in 49.2 overs. It was a good opportunity for team Pakistan to win the match and make it through to the semi-finals. The team played likewise with an impressive opening. Azhar Ali scored 34 runs off 50 balls, while Fakhar Zaman made 50 runs off 36 balls. However, the team staggered in the middle of the match but came out as the winner eventually. The team made 237 runs in 44.5 overs at a fall of 7 wickets.

Sarfraz Ahmed played a major role in the victory of team Pakistan as he scored 61 runs off 79 balls remaining not out and so was given the title of the Player of the Match. Pakistani bowlers did well with Junaid Khan becoming the highest wicket-taker for the team striking 3 wickets at an economy rate of 4.00.
